Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Ferran Torres from Valencia.
The pacy, 20-year-old winger has been identified as a player that can help fill the void left by Leroy Sane departing for Bayern Munich after attracting attention from a host of top European clubs for his impressive performances in La Liga and for Spain at youth level. The fact that he is into the final 12 months of his current deal has increased his appeal to prospective buyers.
While City are not celebrating yet considering the interest from other clubs in Torres that remains, they are believed to be nearing an agreement with Valencia that would see the player switch clubs for an initial £21m (€23m) with the potential for considerable add-on payments that could lift the final figure up by another £10.5m (€12m).
